Job Description
The Equipment Strategy Program Manager at New Leaf Energy is responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement, use, and lifecycle of equipment across renewable energy projects, collaborating with multiple departments to ensure efficient operations and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Order, manage, and optimize equipment used on projects
- Analyze project pipeline to assess equipment needs and make purchasing recommendations
- Coordinate cross-departmentally to communicate equipment status and availability
- Prepare reports and dashboards to inform leadership on equipment status and impact
- Develop and improve processes for equipment optimization
- Manage vendor relationships, equipment contracts, and purchase documentation
- Track equipment deliverables and costs for forecasting and budgeting
- Review and approve equipment purchase invoices
- Collaborate on order specifications and adjustments with development and engineering teams
- Oversee the handoff of equipment and vendor relationships during project transitions
Requirements
- Six or more years of experience working in the renewable energy industry with a focus on data management, inventory management, procurement, or development management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional employee groups in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Mastery of Excel, databases, or CRMs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
- Experience in managing the creation of processes and procedures to improve equipment optimization.
- Ability to analyze the project pipeline to assess equipment needs and make recommendations for additional equipment purchases.
- Ability to analyze the pipeline to make recommendations on use of equipment to optimize applications, with input from internal subject matter experts.
- Understanding of the economic impacts of using or not using equipment on specific projects to support informed and optimized decisions.
- Experience managing cross-functional communication to provide teams with information about equipment availability.
- Ability to prepare monthly reports to business leaders about the status and impact of available equipment.
- Experience preparing investment committee and Board presentations, as needed.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, developing equipment contracts, placing equipment orders, and maintaining all purchase documentation.
- Ability to track deliverables associated with all equipment orders.
- Ability to maintain accurate records of equipment costs for forecasting purposes.
- Experience reviewing and approving invoices associated with equipment purchases and ancillary costs.
- Ability to collaborate with Finance and Accounting to allocate appropriate costs to equipment.
- Experience managing the handoff of equipment, vendor relationships, and warehouse facility relationships to buyers.
- Experience closing out post-closing obligations related to equipment.
- Ability to proactively identify and work on new process improvements in coordination with stakeholders.
