Job Description
The Civil Project Engineer I supports the design, construction, and permitting of renewable energy projects by collaborating with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure technical excellence and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Civil Engineering SME for the Power Plants team
- Collaborate with engineering consultants and EPC companies to develop and review project plans
- Respond to external civil RFIs and act as the technical focal point
- Author RFPs, bid templates, and scope of service documents
- Onboard engineering consultants and subconsultants
- Perform civil cost estimation and identify opportunities for Value Engineering
- Evaluate third-party change order requests for technical and financial validity
- Review permit applications and liaise with regulatory agencies
- Conduct site visits to verify engineering and construction activities
- Coordinate with EPC partners to ensure timely project closeout and certifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Civil P.E. license preferred
- 4 to 8 years of experience in construction management, site development, entitlement, or environmental permitting
- Specific experience in Solar PV or Energy Storage is a significant plus
- Experience in cost estimation, reviewing engineering services contracts, managing subconsultants
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and HYDROCAD or similar design tools is desired
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead meetings with clients, regulatory officials, and consultants
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously

Above-market variable compensation (annual cash bonus of approximately 10% of base salary)
