Job Description

The Associate Project Developer supports renewable energy project development by identifying land opportunities, conducting due diligence, managing project documentation, and assisting with project closing and market analysis to facilitate the company's clean energy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research land parcels with high potential for solar and storage projects using GIS and outreach methods.
  • Document and manage project opportunities in CRM systems, including scheduling meetings with landowners and transitioning qualified leads to project developers.
  • Conduct desktop reviews and coordinate on-site work for project due diligence, including surveys and environmental assessments.
  • Update project budgets, create spend requests, and monitor subcontractor activities related to site discovery.
  • Initiate and manage contractual documents such as LOIs and leases, and coordinate with authorities for decision documents.
  • Develop cash flow models and review RFPs to assess project viability and bid competitiveness.
  • Prepare project data rooms and support sale due diligence during project close-out.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 to 5 years experience preferred
  • Proficiency in GIS tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM system
  • Experience in solar sales or development preferred
  • Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks in parallel and prioritize competing demands
  • Excellent communication skills for scheduling meetings and engaging with landowners and authorities
  • Ability to conduct desktop reviews including topography, soil conditions, access, wetlands, and environmental restrictions
  • Experience requesting quotes and managing on-site work such as surveying, wetlands flagging, and site walks
  • Ability to update project budgets and create project spend requests using Salesforce
  • Experience monitoring and managing completion of site discovery items by subcontractors
  • Ability to initiate and send initial LOIs and leases
  • Follow-up with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) administrators for timely delivery of decision documents
  • Complete cash flow models to assess project financial impacts
  • Review RFPs and complete RFP questionnaires to assess bid viability
  • Coordinate the recording of documents at local and county record offices during project close-out
  • Coordinate execution of contract amendments, including notarization if needed
  • Prepare project data rooms and support project teams during sale due diligence
  • Strong analytical thinking and experience building sensitivity models in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Ability to identify and research high-potential land parcels using GIS-based efforts and outreach methods such as mailers and phone calls
  • Ability to document opportunities and create due diligence packages in Salesforce
  • Ability to transition qualified landowner opportunities to project developers
  • Ability to support continuous improvement and standard process development
