Job Description
The Environmental Health Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring federal and local safety compliance across field locations, developing safety protocols, promoting a safety culture, providing training, and leading continuous improvement of the EHS management system within the cannabis industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary health and safety contact for field locations
- Ensure compliance with federal and local safety regulations
- Develop and maintain safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Promote and foster an autonomous EHS culture and employee engagement
- Provide EHS training to staff
- Develop risk identification and reduction strategies
- Drive awareness and communicate safety best practices
- Implement new safety programs and initiatives
- Ensure safe behavior, machinery operation, and regulatory compliance at each site
- Lead continuous improvement of the EHS Management System
- Facilitate cross-site discussions and share best practices on EHS topics
Requirements
- Serve as the primary health safety point of contact for the field locations in the respective market.
- Support management with addressing and ensuring all federal and local legislative compliance related to environmental health and safety.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) pertaining to safety.
- Develop an autonomous EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) culture within the organization.
- Promote defined Health and Wellness programs.
- Define EHS standard operating procedures.
- Provide EHS training to employees.
- Develop risk identification and reduction awareness and methods.
- Proactively drive awareness, communicate best practices, and implement new programs related to safety.
- Work to ensure safe behavior, machinery operation, and regulatory compliance for EHS at each site.
- Lead continuous improvement of the EHS Management System.
- Facilitate cross-site discussions, projects, and best-practice sharing across key cultivation, manufacturing, and retail sites regarding EHS topics.
