Job Description
A Business Analyst Intern Working Student role focused on developing and refining techno-economic models to evaluate the viability of deep tech solutions in the climate tech industry, supporting market research, strategic analysis, and providing actionable insights to drive sustainable industrial innovations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop understanding of startup environment, markets, and technology
- Own and master the Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA) framework
- Refine TEA model and supporting analyses to reflect realistic business assumptions
- Conduct market research and analyze industrial verticals for high-potential opportunities
- Evaluate application fit with technology using TEA and complementary analyses
- Source, structure, and analyze datasets to strengthen models and insights
- Translate complex outputs into clear, actionable insights for team and management
- Lead TEA-based evaluations across multiple industries and applications
- Provide strategic recommendations to refine business model and strategy
- Demonstrate technology market fit to partners and investors through TEA and analyses
Requirements
- A background in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline
- Strong analytical toolkit with advanced Excel modeling skills
- Structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex questions into clear, logical steps, using a consulting-style approach
- Ability to translate quantitative findings into clear business implications and strategic recommendations
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to management, partners, and investors with clarity and confidence
- Prior experience in techno-economic modeling, financial modeling, or business case development, whether academic or professional
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Ability to work a minimum of 3 days per week in the office in Cologne, Germany
