Job Description
A Design and Test Engineer role focused on developing and testing ultra-high temperature electric heaters for industrial decarbonization, involving design, prototyping, testing, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team in a climate tech startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and test ultra-high temperature electric heaters for industrial decarbonization
- Perform design tasks and create technical drawings
- Plan, construct, and execute tests on prototypes and products
- Collaborate with suppliers and identify new ones to discuss design ideas
- Develop products from concept through preliminary sizing to serial manufacturing
- Document test results thoroughly and analyze performance data
- Introduce innovative ideas to improve development processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- A strong technical understanding of function, manufacturability, and assembly.
- CAD experience, e.g., Inventor or similar software.
- Full proficiency in German to communicate with our suppliers.
- Excellent written and spoken English to communicate with the team, our customers, and our suppliers.
- Work experience, especially in high-temperature and ceramics design, testing, and manufacturing.
- Self-driven and independent work attitude.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present technical information.
- Ability to perform design tasks and create technical drawings.
- Ability to plan and construct test setups autonomously.
- Ability to develop products from concept through preliminary sizing and first designs to serial manufacturing independently.
- Ability to execute tests and ensure thorough documentation of the results.
