Job Description
A Business Analyst Intern Working Student role focused on developing and refining techno-economic models to evaluate the viability of deep tech solutions, conducting market research, and providing strategic insights to support the company's decarbonization efforts in industrial heat applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and master the Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA) framework and refine its models and supporting analyses.
- Conduct market research and analyze industrial verticals to identify high-potential opportunities.
- Evaluate the fit between applications and technology using TEA and complementary analyses.
- Source, structure, and analyze datasets to strengthen models and insights.
- Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable insights for the team and management.
- Lead TEA-based evaluations across multiple industries and applications independently.
- Provide strategic recommendations to refine business models and strategies based on TEA evaluations.
- Demonstrate technology market fit to partners and investors through rigorous analyses.
Requirements
- A background in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline
- Strong analytical toolkit with advanced Excel modeling skills
- Structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex questions into clear, logical steps, consulting-style approach
- Ability to translate quantitative findings into clear business implications and strategic recommendations
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to management, partners, and investors with clarity and confidence
- Prior experience in techno-economic modeling, financial modeling, or business case development, either academic or professional
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Ability to work a minimum of 3 days per week on-site in Cologne, Germany
