Job Description
A research-focused role developing advanced AI and cognitive systems, including machine learning, generative AI, and human-machine interaction, to support innovative, mission-driven projects and prototype development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to research, engineering, and software development in AI systems, sensor data processing, multimodal reasoning, and human-AI collaboration.
- Design algorithms to improve explainability, trust, and performance of adaptive AI systems in real-world settings.
- Solve complex customer challenges and contribute to technical proposals.
- Author invention disclosures, research publications, and customer briefings.
- Demonstrate prototypes and support marketing efforts of organizational capabilities.
Requirements
- Research or development experience in one or more of the following areas: Software Engineering, LLMs NLP, Human-Machine Interaction, Data Analytics, or Machine Learning AI.
- Experience building scalable systems, APIs, and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of transformer architectures, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Familiarity with cognitive architectures, user modeling, neurophysiological sensing, and human subjects research methods.
- Strong skills in data wrangling, feature engineering, and statistical modeling using Python.
- Hands-on experience with supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, Cognitive Science, or related fields.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in applied ML or AI research, preferably in high-stakes or mission-critical domains.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, or permanent resident status.
- Strong interdisciplinary communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, exploratory research environments.
- Curiosity-driven mindset with a passion for solving complex problems.
