Job Description
The position involves supporting the development, analysis, and management of renewable energy projects, including building financial models, conducting due diligence, and assisting with investment transactions and portfolio management within the sustainable infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage financial models to analyze and structure renewable energy investments and assess risks.
- Support transaction execution by analyzing terms, conducting due diligence, and reconciling financial documentation.
- Participate in business development activities related to renewable energy projects.
- Assist in the financing processes for project finance transactions, including document negotiation and investor due diligence.
- Collaborate with portfolio management and risk teams to provide investment expertise for decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution.
- At least 3 years of experience in finance in the renewable energy sector, ideally including tax equity partnerships, project finance, and structured debt or equity finance.
- Experience in modelling, ideally involving structured debt and equity investments, including intimate knowledge of tax equity partnership flip and lease models for wind and solar assets.
- Demonstrable experience with renewable energy project underwriting and transaction document negotiation.
- Very strong MS Excel financial modeling and data mining skills, with demonstrable experience developing and managing complex financial models.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Relevant industry experience in energy, banking, tax equity investing, consulting, or the energy utilities sector.
- Familiarity with energy project finance transactions and documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including listening skills.
- Dependable and reliable, with the ability to take initiative, work independently without close supervision, and support a team.
