Job Description
The position involves supporting the investment and portfolio management of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and storage, through financial modeling, transaction execution, due diligence, and asset management activities within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage financial models to analyze and structure renewable energy investments.
- Support transaction execution by conducting due diligence and analyzing project agreements.
- Assist in the negotiation and documentation of project finance transactions.
- Develop assumptions for project investment models in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Evaluate portfolio diversification and manage associated risks.
- Participate in all phases of investment process, from qualification to closing.
- Support financing processes for project finance transactions, including document negotiation and investor due diligence.
- Provide investment expertise to assist in portfolio asset management and commercial decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution.
- At least 3 years of experience in finance in the renewable energy sector, ideally including tax equity partnerships, project finance, and structured debt or equity finance.
- Experience in modelling, ideally involving structured debt and equity investments, including intimate knowledge of tax equity partnership flip and lease models for wind and solar assets.
- Demonstrable experience with renewable energy project underwriting and transaction document negotiation.
- Very strong MS Excel financial modeling and data mining skills, with demonstrable experience developing and managing complex financial models.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Relevant industry experience in energy, banking, tax equity investing, consulting, or the energy utilities sector.
- Familiarity with energy project finance transactions and documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including listening skills.
- Dependable and reliable, with the ability to take initiative, work independently without close supervision, and support team members.
