Job Description
The Welding Engineer will develop and optimize welding processes for Gotion's large-scale battery cell manufacturing facility, ensuring high-quality welds for battery components through manual and robotic welding techniques, while supporting process improvements and team training.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate welding processes for battery cell assembly
- Program and maintain robotic welding systems to ensure quality and efficiency
- Conduct weld quality testing and analysis to meet safety and performance standards
- Troubleshoot welding issues and implement process improvements
- Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability of components
- Train technicians on welding procedures and safety protocols
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in welding engineering, ideally in electronics or battery manufacturing.
- Proficiency with welding technologies such as laser welding, ultrasonic welding, resistance welding, MIG, TIG, and robotic welding systems.
- Knowledge of metallurgy and material properties related to aluminum, copper, and steel.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with quality control tools such as Six Sigma.
- Ability to develop and validate welding processes including laser welding, ultrasonic welding, and resistance welding for battery cell assembly.
- Ability to program and maintain robotic welding systems to achieve consistent quality and efficiency.
- Ability to conduct weld quality testing and analysis to meet performance and safety standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot welding issues and implement process improvements to minimize defects.
- Ability to collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability of battery components.
- Ability to train technicians on welding procedures and safety protocols.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 (plus bonus and benefits)
