The Tax Manager at Gotion Inc. will lead the corporate tax function, overseeing tax compliance, planning, audits, and financial reporting, while collaborating with senior management to develop strategies that optimize tax outcomes and support global business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Review and oversee the preparation of annual domestic income tax returns and filings at federal, state, and local levels
Manage tax-related documents, compliance, and filings, including declarations and extensions
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual tax accounting close processes, including provision calculations and reserves
Develop and implement global tax planning strategies to reduce tax expenses and manage exposures
Supervise and collaborate with outside tax advisors on various projects
Ensure organizational compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations
Prepare tax rate modeling to support financial planning and cash flow forecasting
Maintain understanding of global business activities and advise senior management on tax strategies
Manage transfer pricing planning and compliance
Oversee the reconciliation of income tax and tax basis balance sheets under ASC 740
Lead efforts to expand international operations and manage all aspects of international tax planning
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Tax.
CPA designation or Master's degree in accounting, tax, or related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
Experience with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
At least 6 years of experience in tax, preferably within a Big Four public accounting firm and a multi-national public company global tax department.
Demonstrated ability to review annual domestic income tax returns prepared by a third party.
Experience managing tax related documents and filings including federal, state, and local tax returns, declarations, and extensions.
Experience managing monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, including provision calculations and reserve requirements.
Ability to develop and implement global tax planning strategies, including tax rate modeling to support long-range planning and cash flow forecasting.
Experience supervising and collaborating with outside tax advisors on various projects.
Ability to oversee all costs associated with the tax function.
Ability to ensure organizational compliance with tax code changes.
Experience preparing effective tax rate modeling to support long-range plan and cash flow forecasting.
Ability to develop and implement tax planning strategies to reduce tax expense, eliminate tax exposures, minimize audit deficiencies, and maintain a competitive effective tax rate.
Experience partnering with the business to expand international operations and being the go-to for all aspects of tax.
Experience managing the process of gathering, documenting, and reviewing GAAP-tax differences used in the tax provision process under ASC 740 (formerly FAS 109), including reviewing and approving the reconciliation of income tax balance sheet accounts and tax basis balance sheets.
Experience being responsible for the company’s transfer pricing planning and compliance.
Ability to communicate effectively with and influence non-tax business leaders, demonstrating a conceptual and business-oriented approach to taxes and tax planning.
Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements, including the use of new tax technology and automation tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage critical timelines.
