Job Description
The Battery Product Certification Engineer at Gotion Inc. is responsible for leading safety testing, regulatory compliance, and certification processes for lithium-ion battery products used in electric vehicles and energy storage systems, ensuring they meet global standards and facilitating market access.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead certification and regulatory approval processes for lithium-ion battery products across global markets.
- Coordinate with third-party testing labs to conduct safety and compliance testing according to relevant standards.
- Engage with authorities and AHJs to address safety and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with product design, systems, and quality teams to integrate compliance requirements into development cycles.
- Develop and manage product compliance plans and timelines aligned with project milestones.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for certification submissions, including test reports and risk assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of experience in battery certification, regulatory compliance, or product safety engineering for EV or ESS products.
- Hands-on experience with battery-related standards and certifications such as UL 2580, UL 9540, UN 38.3, NFPA 68, NFPA 69, NFPA 855, etc.
- Experience working with third-party testing labs and certification agencies.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support testing, audits, and certification activities.
Benefits & Perks
US base salary range of $90,000.00 - $128,000.00 with 15% bonus benefits
