The role involves managing and executing employment-based immigration processes for a high-volume workforce, including visa applications, compliance, and coordination with internal teams and external counsel, to support the company's global talent needs in a manufacturing and technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end employment-based immigration matters, including visa filings, extensions, amendments, and RFEs.
Advise HR and business partners on visa strategy, timing, and risk management.
Support employment-based permanent residence processes such as PERM, I-140, and I-485 filings.
Ensure compliance with USCIS, Department of Labor, and Department of State regulations.
Maintain immigration recordkeeping, including Public Access Files.
Partner with HR on I-9 and E-Verify compliance, providing guidance and audit support.
Manage government audits, site visits, RFEs, NOIDs, and other inquiries.
Monitor changes in immigration law and policy, advising leadership accordingly.
Collaborate with HR, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders on workforce planning and immigration support.
Provide guidance to managers and employees on immigration processes, timelines, and expectations.
Coordinate with outside counsel and vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective immigration services.
Develop and maintain internal immigration policies, procedures, and tracking systems.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Minimum of seven (7) years of employment-based immigration experience.
Demonstrated hands-on experience managing high-volume H-1B and L-1 programs, including cap and cap-exempt filings, extensions, amendments, and RFEs.
Experience supporting immigration needs for a workforce with a significant foreign national population.
Strong working knowledge of USCIS, Department of Labor, and Department of State processes.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, on-site business environment.
Experience managing employment-based permanent residence matters, including PERM, I-140, and I-485 filings, as applicable.
Experience managing government audits, site visits, RFEs, NOIDs, and other agency inquiries.
Ability to advise business and HR partners on visa strategy, timing, and risk in a high-volume environment.
Ability to provide clear, practical guidance to managers and employees regarding immigration processes, timelines, and expectations.
Experience coordinating with outside immigration counsel and vendors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery.
Experience developing and maintaining internal immigration policies, procedures, and tracking systems.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $175,000 to $215,000 (base pay range $175,000 to $200,000, depending on experience and qualifications)
