Job Description
A Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for designing and developing high-voltage battery systems for electric vehicles, including electrical architecture, component integration, testing, and collaboration with cross-functional and global teams within a fast-growing battery industry environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop the electrical architecture of high-voltage battery systems, including BDU components.
- Translate customer and system-level requirements into feasible, manufacturable design solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure complete system integration.
- Prepare technical input and documentation for RFQ and RFI processes.
- Support BMS hardware integration and communication interfaces such as CAN and LIN.
- Participate in system validation through electrical testing and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to DFMEA, DVP&R planning, and functional safety efforts aligned with ISO 26262.
- Engage with suppliers to review and qualify electrical components.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the battery or EV industry, preferably in a Design and development or validation role.
- Exposure to high-voltage battery systems with voltages ranging from 400V to 1000V, including pack or module-level design.
- Basic understanding of Battery Management System (BMS), Controller Area Network (CAN) communication, and automotive diagnostic protocols.
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as Catia V6 Electrical and Capital Harness Busbar.
- Working knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and automotive product development cycles.
- Support in the design and development of the electrical architecture of high-voltage battery systems, including BDU components such as contactors, fuses, FPC, CCS, sensors, busbar, and wiring.
- Assist in translating customer and system-level requirements into feasible and manufacturable design solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, thermal, software, and testing teams to ensure complete system integration.
- Participate in RFQ and RFI processes by preparing technical input and documentation.
- Support BMS hardware integration and communication interfaces such as CAN and LIN.
- Contribute to system validation activities, including electrical testing and troubleshooting.
- Support Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) planning, and functional safety efforts aligned with ISO 26262.
- Engage with suppliers to review and qualify electrical components.
- Willingness to travel up to 15%, including visits to suppliers and OEM sites, both domestically and internationally.

US base salary range of $90,000.00 - $128,000.00 with 15% bonus benefits
