Job Description
This role involves building and leading a marketing and sales team focused on energy storage systems (ESS), developing project best practices, managing industry relationships, and negotiating contracts to support Gotion's global energy storage solutions and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead a marketing and sales team, collaborating with technical personnel internally and externally
- Develop and implement best practices for BESS projects across various product lines
- Serve as a domain expert on BESS, reviewing and approving project solutions in collaboration with ESS stakeholders
- Create metrics and targets to improve project delivery and track progress
- Establish methods for monitoring construction progress, market opportunities, and new market development
- Participate in industry conferences and maintain industry connections to stay informed on market trends
- Develop relationships with key technology vendors and negotiate contracts with customers, partners, vendors, and subcontractors
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Development.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, or other related field.
- MBA degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience working in the energy sector, specifically in Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
- Experience working in a startup or similar environment.
- Global experience and an understanding of multicultural nuances that drive the decision-making process.
- Ability to build a functional team specialized in marketing and sales while interacting with technical personnel internally and externally.
- Experience developing and implementing best practices for small to large Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across all product lines, including residential, commercial, industrial, utility scale, and UPS.
- Ability to act as a domain expert on BESS, cooperate with parent ESS related parties, review and challenge financial considerations, and approve the optimal solutions for projects.
- Developing metrics and targets for achieving continuous improvement in project delivery.
- Establishing methods for tracking construction progress, acquisition opportunities, and new market identification, and presenting report status to the global team.
- Participating in industry conferences, networking committees, and maintaining close connection to trends in the competitive market.
- Developing relationships with key technology vendors in the battery energy storage industry, including procurement, construction, and EPC.
- Negotiating contracts with key customers, partners, vendors, consultants, installation subcontractors to leverage and scale Gotion’s ESS competitive position.
- Ability to be based in South America and the Fremont office, CA.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $130,000 - $180,000 USD
