Job Description
This role involves building and leading a marketing and sales team focused on energy storage systems (ESS), developing project best practices, managing industry relationships, and negotiating contracts to support Gotion's global energy storage solutions and market expansion efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead a marketing and sales team, collaborating with technical personnel internally and externally
- Develop and implement best practices for small to large BESS projects across all product lines
- Serve as a domain expert on BESS, review financial considerations, and approve optimal project solutions
- Create metrics and targets to drive continuous improvement in project delivery
- Track construction progress, identify acquisition opportunities, and explore new markets, reporting to the global team
- Participate in industry conferences, networking, and monitor market trends
- Establish relationships with key technology vendors in the battery energy storage industry
- Negotiate contracts with customers, partners, vendors, and subcontractors to enhance Gotion's ESS competitive position
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Development.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, or other related field.
- MBA degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in the energy sector, specifically Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
- Experience working in a startup or similar environment.
- Global experience and an understanding of multicultural nuances that drive the decision-making process.
- Ability to build and lead a functional team specialized in marketing and sales, with interaction with technical personnel internally and externally.
- Experience developing and implementing best practices for small to large Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across all product lines, including residential, commercial, industrial, utility scale, and UPS.
- Domain expertise in BESS, with the ability to review and challenge financial considerations and approve optimal project solutions in cooperation with parent ESS-related parties.
- Ability to develop metrics and targets for continuous improvement in project delivery.
- Experience establishing methods for tracking construction progress, acquisition opportunities, and new market identification, including presenting report status to a global team.
- Participation in industry conferences, networking committees, and maintaining close connection to trends in the competitive market.
- Ability to develop relationships with key technology vendors in the battery energy storage industry, including procurement, construction, and EPC.
- Experience negotiating contracts with key customers, partners, vendors, consultants, and installation subcontractors to leverage and scale Gotion’s ESS competitive position.
- Willingness to be based in South America and at the Fremont office, CA.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $130,000 - $180,000 USD
