Job Description

The Mechanical Equipment Technician at Gotion Inc. is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and integrate new equipment with existing systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic principles
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and extend lifespan
  • Identify opportunities for equipment improvements and suggest modifications or upgrades
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities
  • Adhere to safety regulations and ensure equipment operates safely and compliantly

Requirements

  • Possess an Associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical, industrial, or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience as an Equipment Technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing production environment.
  • Have a basic understanding of mechanical principles, including power transmission, bearings, gears, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, troubleshoot circuits, and work safely with electrical systems including AC, DC, motors, and control systems.
  • Have a basic understanding of pneumatic components such as valves, cylinders, actuators, and their operation.
  • Demonstrate excellent diagnostic and analytical skills to identify and resolve equipment issues effectively.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing, to colleagues and supervisors.
  • Be able to install new equipment, ensuring proper configuration and integration with existing systems, including mechanical assembly, electrical connections, and pneumatic system setup.
  • Perform troubleshooting diagnostics to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, utilizing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic principles to identify root causes.
  • Perform repairs ranging from basic component replacement to complex system overhauls, and conduct planned preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by suggesting modifications or upgrades to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, and prepare reports and documentation as required.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures to ensure equipment operates in a safe and compliant manner.
