Job Description
The role involves designing, reviewing, and managing mechanical components of high-voltage lithium battery packs for automotive applications, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure quality and compliance in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define technical and regulatory requirements for high voltage (HV) battery pack mechanical components
- Design, review, and manage the release of HV battery pack module mechanical components and CAD models
- Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure components meet requirements
- Coordinate and lead communication with suppliers and internal teams through weekly teleconferences
- Work with systems engineers to define mechanical system DFMEA
- Review DVP&R and validate mechanical design through testing and validation teams
- Conduct mechanical analysis and ensure design suitability for high-volume manufacturing environments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Lithium ion battery design
- Design release experience in the automotive industry
- Experience working with supply chain and quality engineering for supplier selection
- Proven hands-on experience in mechanical analysis
- Experience in high volume manufacturing environment, working with suppliers and manufacturing teams
