Job Description
A Mechanical Engineer Battery System at Gotion Inc. is responsible for designing, validating, and releasing mechanical components of high-voltage battery packs for electric vehicles, ensuring safety, performance, and manufacturability through CAD modeling, failure analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and release mechanical components of the HV battery pack, including enclosures and vehicle interfaces
- Create and manage 2D and 3D CAD drawings of battery pack assemblies and components
- Develop part and assembly models using Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing (GD T)
- Conduct design validation through DFMEA and PFMEA to identify failure modes and improve designs
- Collaborate with CAE and testing teams to ensure designs meet performance targets
- Coordinate development, assembly, and delivery of prototype battery packs
- Work with supply chain and supplier quality teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components
Requirements
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in HV battery design, automotive product design, or relevant industries.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software preferably CATIA V5 or V6.
- Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA), including processes like extrusion, stamping, and casting.
- Solid understanding of various materials and mechanical joining techniques.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to execute contingency plans when needed.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation English.
- Project management experience and ability to lead cross-functional efforts.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and build consensus.
- Fully understand and abide by the contents of the Code of Conduct distributed by Gotion.
