The EHS Technician supports environmental, health, and safety compliance programs by conducting inspections, maintaining records, assisting with audits, monitoring workplace conditions, and supporting employee training initiatives. This role works closely with EHS leadership and operations teams to ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety requirements while promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
• Conduct routine facility inspections to identify environmental, health, and safety hazards.
• Assist with environmental compliance activities, including waste management, recycling programs, emissions monitoring, and documentation.
• Maintain environmental, safety, and training records in accordance with company and regulatory retention requirements.
• Support internal EHS audits and corrective action follow-up activities.
• Perform workplace safety observations and report unsafe conditions, behaviors, or compliance concerns.
• Assist with incident investigations by collecting information, documenting findings, and tracking corrective actions.
• Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment including fire extinguishers, spill response kits, eyewash stations, emergency showers, and first aid supplies.
• Support environmental monitoring activities and data collection efforts.
• Assist in coordinating employee EHS training programs and maintaining training records.
• Help prepare regulatory reports and compliance documentation under the direction of EHS leadership.
• Participate in emergency response drills and support emergency preparedness activities.
• Promote safe work practices and environmental awareness throughout the facility.
• Maintain compliance with company PPE requirements and all safety procedures.
• Associate degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 30 General Industry certification preferred or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial safety, environmental compliance, or related EHS support role.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience maintaining records, conducting inspections, and supporting audits.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in manufacturing, automotive, battery, chemical, or industrial environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
• Experience with hazardous waste handling, spill response, or environmental monitoring.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to walk manufacturing floors and outdoor areas for extended periods.
• Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Occasional exposure to heat, noise, dust, and industrial manufacturing conditions.
• Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and additional PPE as required.
