Job Description
The Dealer Development Director North America is responsible for establishing, launching, and expanding Gotion's company-owned dealership network across the U.S. and Canada, overseeing store operations, sales, customer experience, and parts logistics to build a strong retail presence for electric vehicle products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, establishment, and expansion of Gotion-owned 4S SOHO dealerships across North America.
- Conduct market and location analysis to select dealership sites and define formats.
- Develop operating models, facility standards, staffing plans, and store governance for dealerships.
- Build retail sales capabilities, including hiring, training, and performance management of store staff.
- Design and implement showroom concepts to ensure an exceptional customer experience and brand consistency.
- Develop and deliver training programs for sales teams and customer-facing staff.
- Establish baseline service-light support, including SOPs for customer communication and troubleshooting.
- Evaluate, select, and manage external warehouse and 3PL partners for parts inventory and distribution.
- Create operational policies, KPIs, and conduct audits to optimize store performance and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align dealership operations with broader company strategies.
Requirements
- Ten (10) years of experience in dealer development, retail operations, channel management, or service network development.
- Proven experience building or managing company-owned dealerships, retail stores, or service-light centers.
- Background in EV, automotive, industrial equipment, energy storage, or related sectors.
- Experience launching new locations, including site selection, buildout, and operational ramp-up.
- Experience enabling sales and service-light customer experience in a retail or dealership environment.
- Experience in building a service or dealership network from the ground up.
- Experience integrating sales, service, and parts into a unified dealership model.
- Experience with external warehouse, 3PL selection, and oversight.
- Leadership roles in OEM-owned stores, authorized dealers, service centers, or brand experience centers.
- Familiarity with CRM, DMS, parts systems, diagnostics tools, or retail service platforms.
- Ability to design and scale a multi-location dealer network.
- Strong understanding of store operations and performance levers.
- Ability to architect best-in-class showroom and service experiences.
- Deep understanding of retail sales, conversion, and revenue drivers.
- Comfort with product training, diagnostics, and service workflows.
- Ability to drive capability building and operational transformation.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple departments such as Sales, Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, HR, Operations, Finance, and Quality to align dealership execution.
