Job Description
Manage the construction of a new electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant, overseeing all aspects from planning and site preparation to equipment installation, ensuring safety, quality, and budget adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the construction of the new EV battery manufacturing plant from start to finish.
- Develop and implement a construction plan to ensure timely, within-budget, and high-quality project completion.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including subcontractors, suppliers, and government agencies.
- Oversee site preparation, foundation work, building construction, and installation of manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage project budget and track expenses.
- Communicate project progress to senior management and the Chief Engineer.
Requirements
- Manage the construction of a new brownfield EV battery manufacturing plant from start to finish in Kankakee County, Illinois, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and implement a construction plan that ensures project completion within specified timelines and budget constraints.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and government agencies, throughout the construction process.
- Oversee all aspects of construction, including site preparation, foundation work, building construction, and installation of manufacturing machinery.
- Ensure that all safety and environmental regulations are met during construction activities.
- Manage the project budget and track expenses to stay within financial limits.
- Communicate regularly with the Chief Engineer and other senior management regarding the progress of the project.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, ideally native proficiency.
- Have at least 10 years of experience in construction management, with a minimum of 5 years of experience on large, complex projects.
- Experience working with brownfield or greenfield sites is preferred.
- Knowledge of Automotive Regulations, EV Batteries, Energy, or Complex Site Construction is preferred.
- Demonstrate strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and implement project plans, track progress, and manage budgets.
- Exhibit excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
