Job Description
The Aftermarket Engineering Manager oversees post-sale lifecycle operations for EV battery packs and energy storage systems, including service quality, spare parts, reverse logistics, and recycling, ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and continuous improvement within Gotion's expanding aftermarket services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily aftermarket service operations including dispatch, remote diagnostics, and escalation handling to ensure KPIs such as uptime, FTF, MTTR, and customer satisfaction are met.
- Build and maintain inventory planning systems, manage parts availability, and oversee 3PL performance and spares stock levels.
- Execute return-to-product (RTP) programs, manage hazardous shipment documentation, and coordinate repair, remanufacturing, and recycling processes with partners.
- Oversee operational reporting, warranty claims, and cost tracking; lead continuous improvement initiatives with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in aftermarket after-sales service operations for EV battery, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), or automotive industries.
- At least 2 years of experience leading technicians, analysts, or vendor teams.
- Working knowledge of Lithium-ion (Li-ion) pack basics and field diagnostics commissioning.
- Strong familiarity with PFEP (Plan for Every Part), S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning), 3PL scorecards, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) CRM workflows.
- Hands-on experience with hazmat logistics, including DOT, IATA, UN3480, UN3481, and RTP handling, with solid documentation discipline.
- Demonstrated safety compliance mindset, including EPA RCRA, Universal Waste, OSHA HV safety standards.
- Proven KPI ownership and ability to manage uptime, First Time Fix (FTF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), parts fill rate.
- Ability to travel up to 40% for sites, customers, and partners.
