Job Description
The Aftermarket Engineering Manager oversees the post-sale lifecycle of EV battery packs and energy storage systems, managing operations related to service quality, spare parts, reverse logistics, and recycling, while ensuring safety, KPI performance, and continuous improvement within the company's expanding aftermarket services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily aftermarket service operations including dispatch, remote diagnostics, and escalation processes.
- Ensure KPIs such as uptime, first-time fix, and mean time to repair are met and drive continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain parts planning systems, manage spares availability, and oversee 3PL performance.
- Execute return-to-product programs and manage hazardous shipment documentation and compliance.
- Coordinate repair, remanufacturing, and recycling workflows with partners, and track yield and EPR readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years in aftermarket after-sales service operations for EV battery, ESS, or automotive industries.
- At least 2 years of experience leading technicians, analysts, or vendor teams.
- Working knowledge of Li-ion pack basics and field diagnostics commissioning.
- Strong familiarity with PFEP S OP, 3PL scorecards, and CMMS CRM workflows.
- Hands-on experience with hazmat logistics including DOT, IATA, UN3480, UN3481, and RTP handling with solid documentation discipline.
- Safety compliance mindset with knowledge of EPA RCRA Universal Waste, OSHA HV safety standards.
- Proven KPI ownership including uptime, FTF, MTTR, parts fill, and service quality metrics.
- Ability to travel up to 40% for sites, customers, and partners.
