Job Description
The Director of Engineering will lead the development and technical strategy of a next-generation SaaS platform for the trades industry, focusing on project management, energy modeling, and optimization of home energy systems, while managing a growing engineering team in a fast-paced environment.

- Shape the technical strategy, system architecture, and organizational structure of the product.
- Lead and develop a growing engineering team.
- Collaborate with product and design leadership to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance software delivery.
- Build resilient, distributed systems in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Experience leading the development of SaaS platforms serving professionals in the trades industry.
- Deep architectural experience and a track record of building resilient, distributed systems in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to shape the technical strategy, system architecture, and organizational structure of a new product and business area.
- Proven experience leading and growing engineering teams, working closely with product and design leadership.
- Hands-on technical leadership skills with a passion for team development.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance software.
- Experience in building and managing complex software systems related to project management, energy modeling, savings calculations, and optimization of home energy systems including rooftop solar, battery storage, and home efficiency upgrades.
- Strong understanding of system architecture and organizational structure for software development.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with resilient, distributed systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a critical member of the senior leadership team to build the future of digital tools in the trades industry.
