Job Description
The Director of Product for Fraud and Risk is responsible for designing and executing systems and controls to protect credit products and consumer payments, while ensuring a seamless user experience. The role involves leading risk strategies, reducing losses, and scaling risk capabilities in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect systems, controls, and decisioning to protect credit products, consumer payments, and homeowner experiences
- Develop and execute strategies to address complex fraud and risk challenges
- Align partners around signals and defenses to mitigate fraud and reduce losses
- Drive the roadmap for fraud and risk reduction initiatives
- Scale fraud and risk capabilities as the business grows
Requirements
- Experience in leading the development and execution of systems, controls, and decisioning processes that protect credit products, consumer payments, and homeowner experiences in a fintech environment.
- Ability to architect fraud and risk management systems and controls that maintain a seamless, high-conversion user journey while reducing losses.
- Proven track record of aligning partners around signals and defenses related to fraud and risk challenges.
- Experience in driving a strategic roadmap that materially reduces financial losses due to fraud and risk issues.
- Systems-level thinking with the ability to operate at a director-level altitude while executing with precision in a fast-moving fintech environment.
- Hands-on rigor in managing fraud and risk functions, including designing and implementing decisioning systems and controls.
- Ability to scale fraud and risk capabilities as the business grows, including shaping team development and expanding operational capabilities.
- Strong communication skills to bring clarity to complex fraud and risk challenges and to align cross-functional partners.
- Experience in managing or overseeing fraud detection, prevention, and risk mitigation strategies for consumer credit products and payments.
- Knowledge of the regulatory and legal considerations related to fraud and risk management in financial services.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities, including handling additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.
