Job Description

The Type Test Manager will serve as the primary technical authority for the organization and execution of type tests for Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Air-Insulated Switchgear (AIS) circuit breakers.

Requirements

Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Professional Experience : 10+ years of progressive experience specifically in the type testing of High-Voltage (HV) switchgear.
Technical Standards : In-depth proficiency in international HV switchgear standards, specifically IEC and IEEE.
Design Tools : Proficiency in CAD tools, including Creo Parametric and AutoCAD, for managing test layouts and technical documentation.
Communication : Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively with global, cross-functional teams.
Ownership : A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking end-to-end accountability for tasks.
Analytical Rigor : Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, data-driven approach to technical and operational challenges.
Project Management : Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a high-pressure, project-driven environment.
Collaboration : Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to influence stakeholders across different functions and geographies.
Quality Focus : High level of accountability for quality, on-time delivery, and strict compliance with global standards.
Lab Collaboration Expertise : Proven experience in coordinating and executing type tests with internationally recognized laboratories (e.g., KEMA, CESI) and leading Indian testing institutes (e.g., CPRI, ERDA). Deep understanding of their respective protocols, quotation processes, and testing capabilities.
