The Generator Final Assembly 2nd Shift Manufacturing Engineer will support the off-shifts by working to solve the team’s technical problems.

Manufacturing engineering tasks - primarily tactical responsibilities Creating & updating work instructions Purchasing of & planning maintenance of shop tooling Analyzing part drawings and technical process specifications Creating shop build documentation Communicating technical processes with salary & hourly employees
Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team.

Ability to work 2nd Shift (3-11pm )
Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field from an accredited university/college with 2 years of experience in manufacturing leadership
OR a 2 year Technical Degree with minimum 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership or technical role
OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership or technical role
OR 6 years of military experience in a technical or relatable role
Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
This position is 100% onsite at the GE Vernova factory in Schenectady, NY
This position will mainly support the 2nd shift team (3pm-11pm) but may also be asked to support 3rd shift operations (11pm-7am)
Manufacturing experience or internship in manufacturing environment preferred.
Technical aptitude in an engineering discipline.
Experience with tooling design and/or process improvement.
Ability to present clearly to manufacturing operators and leadership.
Experience in writing standard operating procedures.
Ability to document, plan and execute programs.
