Job Description

As a Lead V&V (Verification & Validation) Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on the design, configuration, testing, and validation of complex HVDC Control & Protection (C&P) and automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and lead a multidisciplinary team specializing in C&P systems, automation, HV/LV power systems, and V&V, ensuring solutions meet all contract, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Provide expert technical guidance across the project lifecycle—including Tendering, Lab Testing (RTDS/ATE), FAT/FST, Site Commissioning, and Service. Deputize for the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) when required.
Plan, monitor, and execute all V&V-related activities, ensuring rigorous defect tracking, traceability, test documentation, and compliance with grid codes and functional specifications.
Monitor and control engineering budgets, schedules, documentation, and risk management processes. Manage change control (CCB) and drive design reviews in line with company guidelines.
Act as the primary technical interface with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, NPI, and Product Care. Translate customer needs into robust, profitable technical solutions.
Drive improvement initiatives, standardization, and "cost-out" plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Apply a lean mindset to streamline review processes and eliminate redundant work.
Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of engineers. Support their career development, manage workload and shift planning effectively, and foster a healthy, sustainable working culture (preventing burnout and ensuring team retention).
Support the Project (Engineering) Manager as required and deputise for them as and when the need arises. Plan and progress all design engineering related activities.
