Job Description

A mechanical or aerospace engineer with gas turbine combustor experience who will contribute to, and collectively own, the aerothermal aspects of the design, development, testing, emissions capability and operability of GE's industrial gas turbine aeroderivative combustion systems.

Key Responsibilities

You will design combustion systems to meet overall gas turbine product requirements.
You will be responsible for completing procedures, design templates, and other standard work methods using hand calculations, test data, and good engineering judgment to justify designs against acceptance criteria.
You will have autonomy to make decisions with a defined framework. In addition, you will consult and seek support from more senior members when necessary to accomplish defined work/priorities.
You will effectively document and present results in formal and informal reviews.
You will protect the IP rights of the Company and agree to the overall business priorities: 1. Safety, 2. Quality, 3. Delivery, 4. Cost, and prioritized in this order.
You will use prior experience, good engineering judgment, and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks and will be co-located with a team having similar goals with multiple resources, internal and external to your own team, to arrive at engineering solutions.

Requirements

A Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in the industry.
A Masters’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline
Minimum of 4 years of experience in gas turbine design
Minimum of 3 years of experience in combustion design
