Job Description
The role involves operating and testing autonomous trucks as an onboard safety driver, ensuring safety, providing feedback to engineers, and maintaining vehicle compliance in a dynamic, data-driven environment at Gatik's Denison, TX location.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 26-30 ft box truck manually and monitor autonomous driving systems
- Collaborate with engineers to test and refine autonomous vehicle technology
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, HOS, DVIRs, and testing protocols
- Provide detailed feedback to engineering teams based on testing observations
- Prioritize safety for vehicle occupants, public, and testing environment
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience driving a box truck
- Experience operating large box trucks 26 - 30 ft or tractor trailers
- Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License CDL with no major infractions
- Clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective reporting
- Critical thinking and decision-making abilities to handle high-pressure situations with composure
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including rotating shifts as needed
