The Autonomous Vehicle Operator is responsible for safely operating class 3-7 trucks to deliver goods, collect route data, and support the development of autonomous driving technology, primarily in the Sherman, Texas area.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate class 3-7 delivery trucks manually on assigned routes
Collect route data to support the development of autonomous driving technology
Ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining safety and product integrity
Assist with loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment
Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure operational safety
Update dispatch team on route and shift status
Collaborate with teams to follow delivery procedures and safety standards
Requirements
Possess a valid Class A CDL driver’s license
Have 3 years or more experience operating straight trucks up to 26-35 ft long in North America
Insurability by the company's underwriting, including a clean personal and professional driving record and background check
Willingness to work flexible hours on both weekdays and weekends
Ability to manually operate class 3-7 less than 33,001-pound GVWR box truck delivery vehicles in manual modes while ensuring safety of other drivers, operators, the public, and the vehicle
Experience in safely loading and unloading customer goods using equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, dollies, lift gates, etc.
Ability to update the dispatch team on shift and route status and record and review data via spreadsheets and other business-related applications
Perform daily routine checks to ensure the operation and safety of trucks, including monitoring fluid levels, tire pressure, hose connections, etc.
Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing a ladder, and operating a manual pallet jack with up to 400 lbs. of goods and material
Ability to learn and adhere to company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with safe operations standards
