Key Responsibilities

  • Factorial Energy is seeking an HR Manager, Korea to join our team in our Cheonan, South Korea location. This person will be responsible for owning all aspects of HR in Korea, running local HR operations end-to-end while serving as a strategic HR partner to local leadership and HQ. They will help leaders make sound people decisions, drive organizational effectiveness, and ensure alignment with Factorial's global HR strategy, policies, and culture. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on operator first and a strategic business partner second, with the judgment to build a high-performing organization that supports business growth.
  • Own and run local HR operations, including employee lifecycle management, payroll (including the four major social insurances and year-end tax settlement), statutory compliance, employee relations, immigration, contingent workforce and contractor classification compliance (Dispatch Workers Act), and vendor management.
  • Ensure compliance with Korean labor law — including mandatory statutory trainings, Rules of Employment maintenance, and labor-management council operations — and maintain effective partnerships with external payroll providers, labor counsel, and other HR vendors.
  • Handle sensitive employee and organizational matters with strict confidentiality and discretion, supporting the compliance obligations of a US-listed public company.
  • Partner with business leaders to support organizational growth, workforce planning, talent strategy, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead Korea recruiting and hiring outcomes by partnering with hiring managers and managing recruiting resources, including agencies, contractors, and RPO partners.
  • Coach leaders on hiring, performance management, employee relations, and people leadership while ensuring alignment with Factorial's hiring philosophy and HR policies.
  • Drive employee engagement, leadership development, and initiatives that strengthen organizational capability and company culture.
  • Partner closely with HQ HR to implement global programs while providing local business insights and ensuring consistent execution across the organization.
  • Build scalable HR processes that support the continued growth of the Korea organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multinational, manufacturing, engineering, or high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, and people decisions.
  • Proven ability to influence leaders, coach managers, and drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience leading recruiting strategy and managing multiple recruiting channels and external partners.
  • Strong knowledge of Korean labor law, HR operations, payroll, and statutory compliance.
  • Experience with HRIS/HCM platforms and applicant tracking systems (e.g., Greenhouse) preferred.
  • Experience working in a multinational or publicly listed company preferred.
  • Native or bilingual Korean and fluent English required.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy, sound judgment, and strong ownership in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
