Job Description
A UX/UI designer responsible for creating and guiding the visual and interaction design of mobile, desktop, and cross-platform mapping applications, focusing on user-centered, accessible interfaces that leverage GIS and location-based technologies to enhance developer tools and user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Create visual designs for mobile and native UI functionalities using Esri's mapping SDKs.
- Develop UX/UI solutions from wireframes and mock-ups to detailed visual designs and prototypes.
- Ensure design coherence by providing interaction and visual design guidance and producing detailed specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers and product managers.
- Stay updated with the latest design trends and technologies to incorporate into product designs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in UX, UI, or interaction design, particularly focusing on mobile and desktop application UIs
- Proficiency in using design software such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
- Understanding of best practices in user-centered design and strong graphic design skills, including expertise in typography, intuitive layouts, user journeys, storytelling, and grid-based design
- Familiarity with Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and Google’s Material Design
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in human-computer interaction, graphic design, computer science, or a related field
- An online portfolio demonstrating design abilities, thinking process, and understanding of client objectives
