Job Description
The Enterprise Database Engineer will design and implement enterprise database strategies using Esri technology, collaborating with customers to meet their business and technical requirements. This role involves configuring geospatial database management capabilities and supporting various GIS workflows for federal and regional clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with customers to understand business and technical requirements
- Design enterprise data management strategies
- Implement enterprise database design and implementation strategies
- Configure back-end geospatial database management capabilities
- Develop enterprise database design and implementation strategies
- Design logical and physical geodatabase models
- Configure enterprise geodatabase maintenance and tuning strategies
- Present complex GIS technical demonstrations
- Collaborate with software development teams to improve capabilities
- Support teams during all phases of implementation
Requirements
- 8 years of professional experience in database architecture and administration for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP Hana.
- Demonstrated experience with database design, data loading techniques, physical storage, backup recovery strategies and data retention solutions, data security, and enterprise database maintenance and tuning.
- Demonstrated experience with geoprocessing tools, tasks, and ModelBuilder.
- Programming and scripting experience with Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with performance assessment and tuning techniques.
- Familiarity with geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial types, spatial analysis, map projections, and more.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers.
- US citizenship and willingness and ability to maintain a US Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related STEM field.
