Job Description
This role involves leading and managing complex GIS and maritime technology projects, supporting maritime clients with innovative solutions, and driving business development within the geospatial and hydrographic data sectors. The position requires technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of project implementation including requirements analysis, design, build, configuration, and deployment.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to deliver solutions aligned with customer objectives.
- Collaborate with consultants and stakeholders to develop high-quality, timely solutions.
- Engage with customers to understand their workflows and create proposals to meet their needs.
- Drive business development through strategic proposal and project planning with existing and new clients.
- Manage and lead a team of maritime experts, developers, and consultants to support maritime systems and applications.
- Advise customers on innovative GIS solutions and strategies to enhance decision-making and system migration.
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of experience in a similar position, supporting similar responsibilities
- Professional experience leading and managing IT-based projects
- Experience supporting maritime customers and knowledge of maritime products and specifications including S-57 and S-100
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and translate customers' business goals, objectives, and strategies into technical plans and solutions
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, verbal communication, multi-tasking, and presentation skills
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to other technical peers or non-technical peers or customers
- Entrepreneurial mindset, eagerness to learn, and ability to thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment
- Proposal writing experience, including preparing executive summaries, solution definition, scope of services, staffing, and pricing
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- US citizenship and willingness and ability to maintain a US Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or a related field
