Job Description
GIS Solution Engineers on the Defense team are highly technical advisors who develop and demonstrate innovative GIS solutions for defense clients, supporting complex business challenges through technical consulting, solution design, and presentations, primarily using Esri's ArcGIS technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with customers and support sales strategies
- Become a subject matter expert in defense industry and ArcGIS technology
- Present, demonstrate, and support the sale of Esri software and solutions
- Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions addressing customer challenges
- Design and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations
- Provide best practices for the deployment and administration of Esri technology
Requirements
- Five years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications.
- Three years of experience in the defense industry.
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing.
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design.
- Understanding of sales and business development processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture.
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology.
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms.
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript.
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%.
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field.
- Applicants must be a US Citizen, undergo a background investigation, and obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility requirements for a Secret, Top Secret (TS), TS SCI, or TS SCI with polygraph.
