Job Description
GIS Solution Engineers on the Defense team are highly technical advisors who develop and demonstrate innovative GIS solutions for defense clients, supporting mission-critical work and addressing complex business challenges through technical consulting, solution design, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with customers and support sales strategies for Esri software and solutions
- Become a subject matter expert in the defense industry and ArcGIS technology
- Present, demonstrate, and communicate technical solutions to customers
- Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions that address customer challenges and add business value
- Design and deliver technical presentations and best practices for Esri technology
Requirements
- Five years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- Three years of experience in the defense industry
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
- Understanding of sales and business development processes
- Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
- Applicants must be a US Citizen, undergo a background investigation, and obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility requirements for a Secret, Top Secret (TS), TS SCI, or TS SCI with polygraph
