Job Description
A Senior GIS Engineer at Esri will design, develop, and enhance geospatial solutions using ArcGIS technology, leveraging programming and AI tools to create innovative mapping and community engagement applications, while collaborating with global teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop ArcGIS-based solutions for communities and stakeholders
- Leverage ArcGIS, AI tools, maps, apps, and integration capabilities to demonstrate geographic approaches
- Customize and enhance ArcGIS experiences and workflows using programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Python, and JavaScript
- Understand stakeholder requirements and incorporate them into geospatial solutions
- Create configuration guidance, best practices, and technical presentations for diverse audiences
- Collaborate with global teams and contribute to community engagement strategies
- Drive innovation by utilizing front-end and back-end programming to improve ArcGIS solutions
- Ensure solutions meet project management and quality assurance standards
Requirements
- Five years of professional experience working with ArcGIS Technology, with a focus on ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Hub and associated apps
- A passion for geographic knowledge and spatial thinking, promoting The Geographic Approach and experience of systems thinking
- Experience configuring and publishing ArcGIS data, maps, and apps, with advanced configuration and interoperability being desirable
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as HTML, CSS, Python, and JavaScript
- Strong presentation skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with virtual and in-person collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with a disciplined, process-oriented mindset
- International collaboration and business experience, working with multiple cultures, developed and emerging markets
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
- Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or a GIS-related field
