Job Description
A Senior GIS Engineer at Esri is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering advanced ArcGIS-based geospatial solutions, leveraging programming and AI tools to enhance community engagement and demonstrate innovative geographic approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop ArcGIS-based solutions and content delivery systems for stakeholders and communities.
- Enhance ArcGIS experiences and workflows through customization using programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Python, and JavaScript.
- Understand stakeholder requirements and incorporate them into geospatial solutions.
- Leverage AI advancements to demonstrate innovative geospatial applications.
- Create presentations, guidance, and best practices for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with global teams and contribute to community engagement strategies.
- Configure and publish ArcGIS data, maps, and apps with advanced customization and interoperability.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of professional experience working with ArcGIS Technology, with a focus on ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Hub and associated apps
- A passion for geographic knowledge and spatial thinking, promoting The Geographic Approach and experience of systems thinking
- Experience configuring and publishing ArcGIS data, maps, and apps with advanced configuration desirable, including interoperability
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as HTML, CSS, Python, and JavaScript
- Strong presentation skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with virtual and in-person collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with a disciplined, process-oriented mindset
- International collaboration and business experience, working with multiple cultures, developed and emerging markets
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
- Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or a GIS-related field
