Job Description
This role involves working closely with utility clients to develop and implement GIS solutions using Esri technology, providing expert guidance on utility network systems, managing projects from planning to deployment, and supporting the growth of GIS applications within the electric and gas utilities sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate client needs into GIS-driven solutions using Esri technology
- Develop multi-year GIS implementation and migration strategies
- Gather and analyze client requirements and workflows to create actionable plans
- Design effective solutions by analyzing business and technical challenges
- Provide expert guidance on GIS and ArcGIS Utility Network technologies
- Lead project teams through all phases from requirements to rollout
- Manage project scope, cost, schedule, and deliverables
- Maintain client relationships and coordinate with subcontractors
Requirements
- 8 years of significant, proven experience applying GIS technology within electric and gas utilities sector including Utility Network implementations and or migrations
- Domain expertise throughout the electric and gas utilities market, including electric and or gas distribution and transmission
- Experience with Esri products to solve complex business problems
- Familiarity with RDBMS and geodatabase design techniques and concepts
- Demonstrated professional experience applying electric and gas utilities GIS data management frameworks
- Knowledge of software development methodologies
- Ability to develop project designs, work plans, budgets, and schedules
- Experience with desktop, client server, and Internet applications and architecture
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, presentation, and leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, GIS, computer science, or a relevant field
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US; visa sponsorship is not available
- Experience in the integration of ArcGIS with common utility enterprise systems, such as asset management, work management, network analysis, Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), customer information systems, and document management systems
- Knowledgeable of utility workflows and how they are applied through GIS, such as facility management (AM/FM), right-of-way corridor planning, engineering, design, construction, inspection, network analysis, integration with other systems, and market analysis
