Job Description
A Sr. Accountant responsible for ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulations, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial statements, and providing technical accounting guidance within a corporate finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the month and year-end close process for domestic entities, ensuring accurate financial statements and compliance with GAAP and regulations
- Perform monthly close functions including reviewing and preparing general ledger entries, reconciliations, and management reporting
- Maintain and develop accounting policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices
- Support and provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues and transactions
- Collaborate with FP&A to communicate transactions impacting results and forecasts
- Assist operational areas such as Accounts Payable and Asset management that impact domestic accounting activities
- Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy of accounting functions
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of prior experience in public accounting or a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial consolidation.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze financial statements.
- Ability to support the month and year-end close process for all domestic entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements and compliance with local GAAP, laws, and regulations.
- Experience conducting monthly close functions such as reviewing and preparation of general ledger entries, monthly reconciliations, and supporting management reporting analysis.
- Ensuring quality control over financial transactions, financial reporting, and monthly allocations.
- Developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Supporting and implementing complex accounting issues and transactions, providing technical guidance and recommendations.
- Interacting closely with FP&A and effectively communicating transactions that impact results and forecasts, including short-range outlooks, and annual and long-range plan development processes.
- Supporting operational areas that impact domestic accounting activities such as Accounts Payable, Assets, and other transactional functions.
- Driving process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification that meets California CPA eligibility requirements.
