Job Description
This role involves managing relationships and developing strategies to promote Esri's GIS technology within local government organizations, focusing on expanding adoption, identifying growth opportunities, and providing expert solutions to meet organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and deepen relationships with local government organizations to identify opportunities and expand GIS technology adoption.
- Develop and implement location strategies for large, complex organizations.
- Present at trade shows, workshops, and seminars to demonstrate GIS solutions and industry knowledge.
- Identify key stakeholders and understand organizational decision-making and budgeting processes.
- Articulate the value of Esri technology and its relevance to local government needs.
- Manage the sales cycle, create partnerships, and establish trust with large customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams and partners to develop account strategies and share knowledge.
- Proactively execute account management and sales processes to meet revenue targets.
Requirements
- Experience managing the sales cycle, creating partnerships, and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor with large customers
- Possess financial and business acumen to build compelling account growth strategies
- Advanced knowledge of local government and new technology trends and the ability to translate this into complex solutions for customers
- Understanding of GIS, Esri technology, and local government as they relate to one another
- Expert visual storyteller and negotiator across all levels of an organization
- Knowledge of industry fiscal year, budgeting, and procurement cycles
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, business administration, or a related field
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available)
- Total years of relevant experience not explicitly specified, but demonstrated experience in sales, account management, and GIS-related solutions is required
