Job Description
A Spatial Data Engineer at Esri's ArcGIS team is responsible for analyzing, transforming, and loading large-scale spatial data into normalized databases, developing scripts for data processing, and ensuring data quality to support geocoding and geospatial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, enhance, prepare, and load spatial data into normalized databases regularly
- Write and maintain Python and SQL scripts for data processing and loading
- Evaluate new data sources for quality and attribution to support product requirements
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience developing Python scripts or tools.
- Experience writing scripts to perform spatial operations, advanced queries, and joins in SQL.
- Intermediate to advanced experience working with large, normalized databases.
- Experience transforming data from flat to normalized databases.
- Prior experience with ETL workflows.
- Ability to read data product specifications and translate them into database models and tables.
- Ability to manage priorities and tasks as needed in a fast-paced work environment.
- A keen attention to detail and drive to resolve any issues encountered.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, GIS, or a related field.
