Job Description
The Solution Architect will design and implement advanced GIS solutions using the ArcGIS platform, working closely with customers to meet complex technical and business needs, while providing leadership and guidance within the Professional Services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement ArcGIS platform-based strategies and solutions to meet customer requirements
- Define business continuity plans for on-premise and cloud deployments following industry standards
- Establish best practices for deploying and integrating the ArcGIS platform with other systems
- Translate customer requirements into software architecture and design specifications
- Advise customers on innovative and effective GIS solutions using Esri technology
- Develop and recommend GIS strategies, architectures, and migration plans for clients
- Collaborate with customers and partners to identify, design, and certify GIS workflows
- Develop multi-year IT GIS strategies to support technology change and budgeting
- Mentor and lead technical teams through project implementation, risk management, and personnel guidance
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of professional experience in GIS platform architecture and solution design.
- Professional experience architecting, implementing, and administrating enterprise IT-GIS solutions systems that leverage the ArcGIS enterprise platform desktop, server, and online.
- Hands-on experience with Esri Software.
- Demonstrated experience in platform architecture, solution design, project envisioning, planning, developing, and deployment.
- Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and/or other RDBMS and Windows, Linux, and/or other server environments.
- Programming and scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, and/or HTML5 modern web frameworks.
- Knowledge of integration of other enterprise systems such as ERP, EAM, CRM, SCM.
- Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, and related topics.
- Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented architectures and cloud hybrid configurations.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to customers, executives, other technical staff, or non-technical staff.
- Experience in leading and empowering team activities including finances, budgets, personnel, and risk management.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related STEM field.
