Job Description
The GIS Solution Engineer Team Lead is responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of solution engineers, leading technical sales activities, and developing complex GIS solutions to help government and civilian science clients achieve their mission-critical goals using Esri's ArcGIS platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the technical activities of the Solution Engineer team throughout the sales process.
- Mentor and coach team members to develop their technical skills and performance.
- Present, demonstrate, and support the sale of Esri software and solutions to customers.
- Lead technical meetings with enterprise decision makers to drive revenue.
- Develop complex GIS solutions tailored to customer needs and business challenges.
- Design technical presentations and provide configuration guidance for large audiences.
- Act as a subject matter expert in ArcGIS and civilian sciences to develop strategic solutions.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- 3 years of experience mentoring, motivating, and coaching a team
- Advanced understanding of current GIS technology, including the full ArcGIS system to demonstrate Esri s patterns of use for civilian sciences
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, software, storage, security, networking, servers, databases, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
- Demonstrated experience of actively participating in a sales process
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 50%
- Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, business administration, or a related field
