Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for advising clients on complex GIS solutions, demonstrating the value of Esri technology, and supporting sales and technical consulting efforts within government sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate the value of Esri technology
- Build relationships and support sales strategies through presentations and demonstrations
- Become a subject matter expert in GIS, particularly ArcGIS, and in government sector needs
- Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions that address customer challenges and align with their business goals
- Present technical solutions and best practices to technical and non-technical audiences at conferences and trade shows
Requirements
- 3 years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- 1 year of experience in state and or local government
- Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing
- Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
