Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for advising customers on complex GIS solutions, demonstrating the value of Esri technology, and supporting sales and technical consulting efforts related to ArcGIS and local government applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate the value of Esri technology
- Build relationships and support sales strategies through presentations and demonstrations
- Become a subject matter expert in local government GIS applications and ArcGIS technology
- Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions that address customer challenges and align with their business needs
- Present technical solutions and best practices to technical and non-technical audiences at conferences and trade shows
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- At least 1 year of experience working in or supporting local government
- Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design, as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments, specifically Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to support and communicate solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical customers
