Job Description
GIS Solution Engineers on the Defense team are highly technical advisors who develop and demonstrate innovative GIS solutions for defense clients, helping them address complex challenges through technical expertise, strategic consulting, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with customers and support sales strategies
- Become a subject matter expert in defense industry and ArcGIS technology
- Present and demonstrate Esri solutions to customers
- Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions addressing customer challenges
- Design and deliver technical presentations and best practices
- Support deployment, upgrading, and administration of ArcGIS Enterprise
- Advise customers on GIS technology integration with their business systems
Requirements
- Three years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- One year of experience in the defense industry
- Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context
- Experience deploying, upgrading, and administering ArcGIS Enterprise
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S., be a U.S. citizen, undergo a background investigation, and obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility requirements for a Secret, Top Secret (TS), TS SCI, or TS SCI with polygraph

Base salary range approximately $76,960 to $126,880 USD
